Behind every estimate.
Coverage expanded October 1, 2026. All 200 locations return numerical scenarios: 160 country-specific profiles, six territory proxies and 34 cross-country benchmarks. Country profiles often cover only part of payroll costs. They are not 160 fully validated payroll calculations.
The employer subtotal adds gross salary, the listed employer charges and your entered extra costs. Employee deductions are already included in gross pay. Most profiles exclude employee income tax: their employee contribution subtotal is not total tax or take-home pay. Excluded costs are not zero. Monthly results are annual budget averages.
How benchmark scenarios work
Where a reliable local model is unavailable, the calculator uses an illustrative 10.7% employer allowance and 6.5% employee contribution allowance. These are the median effective contribution percentages across 150 sourced planning profiles, evaluated at each profile’s example salary and rounded to one decimal place. The sample includes partial profiles and different salary levels. It is not statistically representative, a confidence interval, or evidence of the selected country’s statutory rates. It may materially understate or overstate local costs. Employee income tax and local caps, thresholds and benefits are excluded.

Territory proxies and salary assumptions
Six French territories use mainland France approximations before overseas relief. This is explicitly a proxy, not a locally verified rate. Profiles below their detailed salary range return contribution-only approximations and suppress income tax and take-home estimates; minimum bases and low-income relief are not modeled. Salary is assumed to be evenly paid across the year unless a profile says otherwise.
